Day 5 and 6 and BEACHBODY VS ADVOCARE

Advocare all the way.
I have the strongest belief that health and weight loss should not be temporary.

In order for this to be the case you need a community of support.

When I was involved in Beachbody, I felt very alone and like I was under a lot of negative pressure. I found it frustrating that once I finished my challenge I was kind of left to find my own way.

In order to be involved in the group I had to still be big products which I couldn't afford. I was removed from a group of women supporting each other.

Last year I did the advocare challenge and before starting I talked to my coach's coach, Cindy on the phone for nearly an hour about all my problems i had before. She was so understanding and wonderful.
I had amazing results.

I couldn't continue buying their products because of affordability. I remained in the group and was CONSTANTLY inspired by my peers, and got ideas stay in shape

This time around i have the greatest coaches who are monitoring my blog and my life and then they teach our to me to help me through—over the phone.

Beachbody workouts are incredible. I don't like their business and I don't think they have customer interests at heart. Advocare feels intimate.

Because this contact me if you are interested in this amazing organization.
-a regular skeptic of pyramid schemes.

So the last two days were great food and exercise and water wise but I have had a bad tummy ache and struggling a bit with supplements. I need structure back badly.

Day 4 and healthy brownie batter

BEST OF TODAY: The Advocare Meal Replacement Shake. Seriously if you love chocolate and brownies and peanut butter this healthy alternative IS THE ONE FOR YOU.

WORST OF TODAY: My lack of sleep is something that is really starting to take its toll on me. Staying up until 4 am is probably not super great on the body.

I'm really starting to get my sea legs on this challenge and I feel very in control and not at all miserable which I think is probably important for long term success.

Currently still trying to get myself to workout, hopefully it happens.

Breakfast: Meal Replacement Shake—chocolate peanut butter

Snack: carrots and the magic hummus

Lunch: Grilled lemon chicken salad with goat cheese and lime/pepper dressing

Dinner: Baked chicken and roasted veggies

This was a lowkey day except I'm ready to kick things into high gear due to a trip to Mexico in February and then Europe in June!

Day 3: oreos you tempests

Best of today: Meal prep was easy this morning.

Worst of today: the three oreos I just ate.

Today was a beautiful day on the central coast so we decided to take our puppy on a walk down the beach to watch the INSANE waves. Call Johnny Tsunami, it was lit.

I called that my workout because it was about an hour of walking on sand and I'm still sore from yesterday's hike.

I feel great about my food intake and I'm one cup of water away from my daily goal of 72 oz. I'm feeling very in the zone with water the last few days.

I'm starting to feel very clean and much more confident. Eating clean is seriously so satisfying.

Today I ate:

My usual egg white omelet (I seriously live for this)

Snack: carrots and the best garlic hummus I have ever had ever

Lunch: homemade, lowcal chili

-ground turkey
-red onion
-green pepper
-kidney beans
-black beans
-cumin
-pepper
-salt
-one cup of water

Snack: carrots and the magic hummus

Dinner: the other half of the chili

snack: oreos (I on't feel guilty. They were delicious and I was still under 1200 calories for the day.) You gotta live, fam

Day 2 and the satisfying change of plans

Best of today: The salad I ate for lunch. Maybe it was because I got to eat it after one of the toughest hikes of my life that made it so satisfying, but goodness, it was delish.

Worst of today: Seconds for dinner. Although, below you will find out why I won't beat myself up for it.

I was worried about today because I knew I wouldn't be home for most the day. I was more anxious about drinking enough water (I'm supposed to drink 72 ounces) because I would be on the move. However, I reached my goal at about 7 p.m.  after dinner.

My boyfriend had been anxious to get me to hike up Bishop's Peak here in San Luis Obispo for quite some time so I finally obliged. It was strenuous, steep and crazy slippery. It was definitely the perfect mixup for workouts.

Because of all the water, I wasn't all that hungry today so I didn't feel the need for my midmorning snack.

Today I ate:

Breakfast:
That delicious egg white omelet

Lunch: the worlds most delicious salad
-Mixed greens
-grilled lemon chicken
-goat cheese (my actual weakness)
-Avocado
-blueberry
-basalmic vin

Snack
-Carrots
-Peas
-apple slice

Dinner:
Okay so I had a pretty simple meal planned out for dinner but we decided to go visit Billy's friend for his last day here and we all made dinner and it was so delicious and satisfying and relatively clean. I probably ate a little more than I should have but it was one of those life moments that you got caught up in the laughter and the tasty and the moment.

We had:
pesto grilled chicken pasta (worst part)
Salad
egg plant baked in whole wheat, brown rice bread crumbs.

Really, it could have been much worse and for the first time in a long time, I don't consider it a "cheat."

This is a process, right?

Advocare Day 1: No one ever gives up at the first step

Best of Day 1: I easily reached my water goal of 72 ounces. I found it much easier to drink in terms of 8 ounces.

Worst of Day 1: I hadn't realized there was a morning pill for the herbal cleanse and didn't take it. it's a process right?

The first day is always the easiest when it comes to challenges.

At least for me.

Mondays have never been hard for me, the first time doing a workout is invigorating and I've always loved the first day of school.

I'm doing the 24 Day Advocare Challenge.

In order to keep accountability I'll be posting a brief blog each day. The blog will simply have my meals, workouts and an accountability photo of some sort.

I woke up later today then I wanted to/should have but my day is still moving smoothly.

I started my day with Spark and I still feel the effects of its energy. I'll definitely need the second one later, though.

For my workout today I did the T25 Alpha Lower Fix workout. Boy, was I sweating.

Breakfast: Egg white omelet
 -egg whites
-green pepper
-red onion
-homemade salsa
-a tablespoon of pork chorizo

Snack:
Sautéed mushrooms

Lunch: Stuffed taco peppers with ground turkey

Snack: Half an avocado

Dinner: grilled chicken and baked carrots

Snack: Half an avocado

I aspire to be strong; not skinny.

It's been  awhile.

This is mostly because I have been so unbelievably busy with school, newspaper, new puppy, friends, boyfriend, and ya know, sleep.

I've also been pretty sick; twice.

I don't get sick. I also don't handle bed-ridden sick well. AT ALL.

My long-time friend Taryn has been  encouraging me to try Advocare's 24 Day Challenge which is very supplement based as well as clean eating.

I started it about a week ago and I really like it. The energy drink provided, Spark, gives me a renewed sense of focus and the cleansing fiber drink makes me feel very clean.

Along with the program I was running a bit, doing my PE abs class, but the other day I decided I wasn't satisfied.

The best I have ever felt is during sports. Track and basketball. These two sports are very strongly based on endurance and strength. I miss being strong.

I have decided to try P90x. I hate being that person who always says she is trying things: running, Insanity, weightlifting and then doesn't stick with it.

Today, I realized this wasn't flakiness, this was me not having found what I love and what works for me yet.

To stay accountable, I'll be doing weekly updates on P90x progress! I also will be doing a final Advocare review.

I saw a sign today that was long the lines of, "love your body, it does everything for you." While this is true, always love your body; however love your body so much it can have the strength and health to take you places.

Fat and skinny aren't something you are, they are things you have or don't have. They don't define you. I personally want to strive to be strong. Do what you want to do, not what you feel like you are supposed to do.

Quitting isn't failing, by the way. Try your best everyday, that's really all anyone can do for anything they take on.

My thing with Beachbody

Ok. Here's the deal. To avoid the GSEC mishap on my personal blog, (check that out here) I'm going to start out here saying:

I loved my Beachbody group, my coaches, and the programs.

I think Shakeology is incredible.

The workouts kick your ass and work. It's an incredible place for someone looking to positively change their body and lifestyle to start.

That being said, I do believe the Beachbody company is a little messed up.

Rightly so, they are very for profit and I understand fairly compensating contributors, I just don't think that in order for someone to get into great shape they need to pay through the roof for that.

There are great, much cheaper alternatives to  Shakeology and you can get high interval workouts via youtube or seeking out coaches (like myself) who thrive to give lifestyle choices out for free. (Like me! If interested, message me on whatever social media you found this.)
